In a recent report on AllThingsDigital, it is noted that 200 carriers worldwide are offering iPhone as one of their premier phones. This is a great news for Apple. Considering the fact that Apple is now releasing iPhone 4S, or iPhone 5 in a few months, probably September this year, more the number of carriers that are offering iPhone, better it is for Apple.

Also, Apple announced the next gen iOS, the iOS 5, that will be releasing very shortly and which will support all iPhones up from iPhone 3GS, Apple is just giving more reasons for its customers for choosing iPhone. Goldman Sachs analyst Bill Shope said the following in of his recent articles:

Apple is adding lots of new carriers abroad. They’ll more than make up for any decline due to folks holding off on their iPhone 4 purchase for news of the iPhone 5 or 4s.

Now it is to see how Apple will keep up this user base as Google’s Android is also catching up very quickly. Manufacturers like HTC, Samsung, and Motorola are making big name and money in Android. So there is really a tough competition going on.
