Unlock iPhone 4.10.01 Baseband with Redsn0w

Jailbreaking your iPhone will free it from the restrictions that are imposed on it by Apple. After jailbreaking you can unlock the iPhone using Redsn0w. Recent news of jailbreaks and unlocks for the iPhone are announced almost every day. An update to Redsn0w allows you to jailbreak the iPhone 4/3G/3Gs. Its developer Geohot discovered the exploit that is used in his latest release, Limera1n. Redsn0w is a tethered solution which means you have to connect your iPhone to your computer when your battery dies and/or you need to re-boot the device.

Redsn0w is available for Mac computers. If your iPhone is on an older boot ROM you may be able to use Redsn0w untethered. Be sure not to update your iPhone if it is on firmware version 4.2. If you do update you may not be able to unlock your iPhone.

You can find downloads of the Redsn0w software online to jailbreak your iPhone. After it is installed the software you will be able to install other software including unlocking software. Be sure when you install Redsn0w you follow the directions the will explicitly tell you what you need to do to successfully jailbreak you iPhone.

There has been an exploit found that allows for an untethered solution that should be available soon for even the latest firmware versions of the iPhone. Apple has not yet patched this exploit and it may not be able to be patched.

You will find the Windows version from iH8sn0w and these solutions allow you to preserve the baseband version allowing you to keep your iPhone unlocked. It sometimes takes a good deal of perserverance and patience to keep your iPhone jailbroken and unlocked but it has its rewards.

Before you use software to unlock your iPhone you will have to perform the process called jailbreaking. Common jailbreakig processes include PwnageTool, Redsn0w, LimeR1n, among others. The exploit that is used deterimes the software design, model of device, firmware version and your computer operating system. It is imperative that all your components meet the minimum specifications of the iPhone jailbreak solution you are going to use.
